Dark Souls Remastered is 50 percent off

Dark Souls Remastered has been released after a long wait. The game is available to download and play right now. Oh, and Dark Souls Remastered is 50 percent off for owners of Prepare to Die Edition.

The new version of the game includes the main game and the Artorias of the Abyss DLC. You can play Dark Souls in 60 FPS, in modern display resolutions.

Surprisingly the new iteration doesn’t require very high specs. Here’s what you will need to play Dark Souls Remastered

  • Requires a 64-bit processor and operating system
  • OS: Windows 7 SP1 64bit, Windows 8.1 64bit Windows 10 64bit
  • Processor: AMD FX-8150 / AMD Ryzen 3 1300X or Intel Core I5-2500K
  • Memory: 4 GB RAM
  • Graphics: Minimum 2GB VRAM (AMD Radeon HD7870, etc) or Nvidia GeForce GTX760
  • DirectX: Version 11
  • Storage: 8 GB available space
  • Sound Card: DirectX 11 sound device

To max out the graphics, you will need the following specs.

Dark Souls Remastered System Requirements:

  • Processor: AMD Ryzen 5 1500X or Intel Core I7-4790K
  • Memory: 8 GB RAM
  • Graphics: AMD Radeon R9 290x or Nvidia GeForce GTX970
  • DirectX: Version 11
  • Storage: 8 GB available space
  • Sound Card: DirectX 11 sound device

The reason why I’m disappointed that Dark Souls Remastered is 50 percent off for owners of the original game, is mostly due to seeing other games being given away for free. Skyrim Enhanced Edition, Titan Quest Remastered, and a few others were made free for owners who had bought the game previously. The upcoming Red Faction Guerilla Re-Marstered edition will be free if you have the original one.

So, that’s why it is a bit sad to see a price tag on Dark Souls Remastered. Then again, StarCraft Remastered wasn’t given away to previous owners for free, was it? At least we are getting the game on a discounted price.

To sum up, if you are a new buyer you can get the game for $39.99 (Rs. 1,199), or you could see a price tag of $19.99 (Rs. 599) because Dark Souls Remastered is is 50 percent off if you have the Prepare to Die Edition in your Steam library. Open the Steam client or login to the web version and you will see the discounted price. It does seem to be a permanent offer, because there is no timer on the page.
