Now, there is a mood status, but it’s vague and boring. What you need is a Skype status with custom text. That would be cool. You can set a proverb, or a quote, or even your favourite line from a movie as your status.
Changing the Skype status is slightly tricky. You would expect it to be in the settings menu, right? But, Microsoft uses a mobile style menu even for the desktop application of Skype, so you actually have to use your account settings to set it.
How to set a Skype status with custom text
1. Click on your photo (aka profile pic or avatar or DP), or your name, in the top left corner.
2. There will be a line which reads “Tell your friends what you’re up to.
3. This is actually a clickable text box. You can also click on the pencil icon for this action.
4. Now, you can enter whatever Skype status with custom text, and that will be visible to your contacts.
