A new phone is joining the Notch display bandwagon, and this time it is HMD Global’s Nokia X6. The company has shared an official photo of the device, on Chinese social network Weibo, which gives us a good look at the device’s display and front panel.
It is unusual to see a company sharing official photos of a device, before it is launched. The Nokia X6 seems to sport a full screen display with an 18:9 aspect ratio, rounded corners, and a notch. The notch looks like it houses a selfie camera, an earpiece and possibly the ambient light sensor and the proximity sensor.
The device has minimal bezels on the top and the sides, but there is a chin with carries the Nokia logo branding. There is no fingerprint scanner on the front panel, and the icon on the lockscreen suggests that it may be on the rear side of the phone.
This design lines up perfectly with the leaked real life photos of the Nokia 6 which were posted on Baidu. And this is what the leaked device looks like. The phone is pretty much stunning, especially with that wallpaper highlighting the phone’s tall display.
There are dual rear cameras on the phone, and what appears to be a glass back. Also noticeable is another Nokia logo on the back panel and a fingerprint scanner.
According to the official teaser posted on Weibo, the Nokia X6 will be launched in an event scheduled for May 16th, in China.
