OnePlus 6 price
The OnePlus 6 has been priced at $529 (£469 or €519).at for the 6GB RAM variant, the 8GB RAM model with 128GB storage costs $579 (£519 or €569), while the highest model with 256GB storage priced at $629 (£569 or €619). The phone goes on sale from May 22nd on OnePlus.com.
While it is nice to see that the company has not gone down the Dollars = Euros pricing road, OnePlus’ practice of increasing the price continues to be a worrying trend. The company keeps selling older devices at their launch price until a newer phone is released, which is a really absurd practice. We think it is not to keep early buyers happy, but to actually justify the higher price of a new phone.
If the price conversion to Indian Rupees amounts to Rs. 36,000, I really don’t see why anyone in their right mind should choose the OnePlus 6 over the Samsung Galaxy S8 (on sale for about Rs. 38,000), which is still a stellar device with a true edge to edge screen (no notch), 2k resolution, a superb camera, and an iris scanner. We will know the OnePlus 6 price in India tomorrow, when the device is launched in Mumbai.
We do think that OnePlus might price the device slightly lower in India.
